Patagonia, Argentina, 3375 m ,visited november 2005

On this hike to the base of Mt. Fitzroy we could experience rain, strong wind , hail and snow,… which all added to the experience.

Unluckilly enough we got only a glimpse of the great Fitzroy on the way back when the mist became less thick. 

We should have known better, Fitzroy was the captain of the Beagle, but was also a great meteorologist…

A wonderful hike from El Chalten to the Laguna Torre with Cerro Torre peak on the background. 

These peaks are extremely difficult to climb, due to their steepness and most of all due to the unreliable weather.

The peak is mostly covered by mist and the wind is very strong here.
