Just a short train ride away from Madrid , El Escorial monastery is known as the burial place of the Kings and Queens of Spain.
The place is situated in the Guadarrama mountain range and is dominated by Mount Abantos , the pine tree covered peak.
It’s a fantastic getaway from the busy city of Madrid.
